IN THE COMPANY OF ANGELS

Chapter 1 Making Company
Have you ever felt as if you have been visited by an angel or angels? I know I have been surrounded by at least one throughout my lifetime. As my life unfolded and I can now look back at the years passed I know; as a child – I went through two operations in one year. That’s a lot for a child to process especially at age seven. So, I know that perhaps there was an angel with me in the operating rooms and certainly in my room at night.
But to have actually had a vision of an angel – physically see with eye or the mind’s eye – not actually but certainly – in my heart. How does a person go about “making company” with an angel or angels? First; belief in God the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit is needed; also faith in God and the Holy Scriptures. God created the angels before all else. So, to “make company” with angels a person must believe in the Holy Trinity and in God’s angels. Then- by faith, trust that your personal angel is around you. Meditation and prayer for an angelic visitation is a way to go. However, simply trusting God to allow an angel or your angel to visit with you is the method I have chosen to use.
So, at night while I lay awake but starting to drift off to sleep and after I have said my prayers – I start talking to my angel or one of the Arch Angels and before I know it – I’m completely asleep.
I don’t know the history of all seven of the Arch Angels but the three most well known are: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. Michael is the warrior, Gabriel is the announcer or messenger and Raphael is the healer. Wow, what a combination to have around watching out for us.
Chapter 2 Keeping Company
How does a person “keep company” with an angel or angels? Well, how does one person “keep company” with another person? Somehow a person or people will come into your life; either by being a friend or an acquaintance and at some point that relationship is fully made. With friends or a friend – communication is made verbally and physically. You get together with friends and “keep company” with them.
Also two people of the opposite gender (or not) will “keep company” by visiting with each other daily and they relationship usually grows into romance and then that is another level of “keeping company”. Granted, “keeping company” is a term that was used in generations past but what a wonderful idea. So how does one go about “keeping company” with an angel or angels? Get to know the name of your personal angel. How? Well get quiet and in a prayerful mood and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the angel’s name to you. Don’t get all heady and over think it. Just relax and when you feel a name come to you – trust and know – that IS the name of your angel. My angel’s name is Jo, by the way. Once you feel you know your angel’s name – address your angel by name. Carry on a conversation with it. Angel’s in their heavenly form do not have human bodies with gender. It is known, however, that when they do appear to us – they take on a gender distinct appearance. That’s so our finite minds can process the information.
Soon you will feel comfortable with your angel and will talk to it regularly. It’s like “talking” to a dearly departed relative or friend. I do that with my mind and my heart! Feel free to keep company with your angel – starting now!
Chapter 3 Being in the Company of Angels
Once it becomes natural for you to be in the company of your angel or angel friends then being in their company will be and feel as natural breathing. There is a great peace to be felt as you go about your daily life. The thought that you are surrounded by at least one angel – it’s amazing to me and I “feel” (his) their presence even though I can’t physically see (him) them.
It’s a wonderful feeling to be sure – to have and to know your personal angel and to come to know the other angels but we must never loose “sight” of the Holy Trinity because – God is the Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth and ought to be the center of our life. Jesus, the Holy Son of God is also our (my) Lord and Savior and the Holy Spirit is the conduit between us (me) and the Father. Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
